Watch A Real Composer Write Music in Sibelius Ep. 10

music composition May 19, 2022

This week on Watch a Real Composer Write Music in Sibelius, when we're coming to the end of a song or piece, it's easy to want to make fast decisions and just be done already. In fact, that's not a bad way to go! But don't lose sight of the details at this stage. This is when you can really elevate a song to its full potential, or leave it slightly underdeveloped. This week, I go back and start the refining and filling process in our art song as we prepare to finalize our material.

Here's what you'll learn in today's episode:

  • How to use objects and variation to help fill in your music.
  • Why texture is incredibly important to consider when filling in your arrangement.
  • Why your ear sometimes doesn't hear what you want it to, and how to get moving in the right direction.

We're really coming to the end now. Just two more episodes and we're all done! Thanks so much for joining me on this journey, I know it's not for everyone. In that light, I want to invite you to comment below the video to request new video topics. That way you basically can get a video made just for you!

Thanks again. You rock.
