My teacher once told me the hardest part of writing a song is to start and finish. I think this holds up and wanted to make sure you have some techniques in your toolbox. Today, I’m sharing 3 ways you can start your next song using the free DAW GarageBand, and you can use these same techniques in any DAW.
In this video you’ll learn:
- The 2-Chords Method for starting a song fast with simple harmonies.
- Use Loop Stacking to skip straight to arranging and vocals (this is the fastest!)
- How to jumpstart a vibe by leading with the beat.
I think you’ll get a lot out of this video and I’d love to hear about some of your songstarting techniques in the comments below the video!
Thanks so much for being here and hanging out with me as I do weird music teachy things. It’s good to be back doing the types of videos I usually do. Looking forward to hearing from you!
