Sometimes I Can’t Write Music Because Anxiety

mental health for musicians Jul 01, 2021

Sometimes I can’t write music, because of anxiety. There, I said it.

Anxiety can have a paralyzing effect on anyone, keeping us from doing the things we love. After years of working through my anxiety in and out of therapy, I’ve come across 3 things that help me successfully manage it.

I know it seems like nothing will work; that’s part of mental illness. I promise if you follow these three steps consistently, over time you will put a dent in your anxious mind and keep it from dominating your mental headspace.

Thanks so much for being here. It’s important to me that we talk about this stuff from time to time. It helps us remember that we’re not alone and that it’s okay to talk about.

You rock.

Best,

Avi
